The Story Behind Jack Frost by Christopher Greyson

By Christopher Greyson   Most of the ideas for my stories begin with the question ‘What if?’, and the same was true for Jack Frost. What if Jack was trapped on a mountain with a killer? Just thinking about the events that would possibly unfold was very exciting. But the thing I love about Jack is the second question I ask: What if things get worse? That’s where I start ramping up the tension.   So, not only is Jack trapped on a mountain with a killer, but he’s cut off from the outside world by a blizzard. And it’s not just himself he’s worried about; he’s trying to protect a group of people. Then one of them gets hurt and needs medical assistance and… the pressure (forgive the intended pun) snowballs.   That’s how the story of Jack Frost unfolds. Jack goes up a mountain, and then it’s a downhill thrill ride of twists and turns until the big bang of the ending. The greatest part of the process is that I get to watch it unfold in my mind, and all I have to do is write down what I see.
