Interview with Lucia Ashta, author of Siren Magic

What can you tell us about your new release, Siren Magic?

Siren Magic is part of the Magical Creatures Academy world. Selene is a hybrid shapeshifter, who doesn’t fit in anywhere. Her only hope is that the MCA will take her. But she has to prove to the Academy she’s worthy first.

What books are currently on your night stand?

Kelly St. Clare’s Immortal Plunder and Magic Sight, a book I co-wrote with Leia Stone, to prepare to write the next book in the series. What advice would you give your teenage self? Follow your dreams from the start. You deserve it. If you had an extra hour each day, how would you spend it? Uh, I’d read more.

What makes your world go round? Why does it bring you joy?

My family. My daughters are magical. What scene in Siren Magic was your favorite to write? I love writing quirky characters with fiery personalities. In Siren Magic, I loved writing the scene where the fairies take baths in teacups, all the while sassing their hosts.
