Interview with Annie J. Rose, author of Boss Daddy

What can you tell us about your new release, Boss Daddy?

Boss Daddy is a second chance romance that ticks a lot of different boxes. It deals with young pregnancy, single parenthood, the sacrifices parents make for their children, reaching for your dreams, fighting for what you want, childhood illness and the stress it has on parents, and just a good old-fashioned happy ending!

What or who inspired you to become an author?

I LOVE reading and I have a very active imagination. I have always written poetry and little short stories so I thought, why the heck not try a book? I don’t have kids yet so I figured it was now or never. Plus my amazing husband is great encouragement. What’s on your top 5 list for the best books you’ve ever read? Oh geez, that’s a tough one. I’ve read so many and I love all different genres. Let’s see…. The First Assassin Harry Potter Kiss the Girls The Bone Collector Montana Sky Say you’re the host of a literary talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you want to ask? That’s an easy one. James Patterson. I would ask him how he keeps his ideas so fresh after so many books.

What’s your favorite thing about writing?

I love escaping into my own imagination and living out things I would probably never do in real life

What is a typical day like for you?

I get up super early (7 am) and head into work. I put in eight hours at the pharmacy then come home, have dinner with my husband and write until I go to bed around 11:30 pm. What scene in Boss Daddy was your favorite to write? I loved writing the scene where Colt finds out he’s a match for Mason and gets to tell Missy. It was a super emotional scene.

Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?

Don’t quit. Whatever you do, just don’t quit. If you fall down, get up. If you fail, try again. Anything worth having is worth working for.
